THERE WILL BE DESSERT!!

For the Mixer this year, we decided to go all out in a delicious dessert bar. We've searched for the best local desserts around and will be having lots of amazing goodies at the Mixer!! The star of the dessert bar will be gourmet cupcakes from Cami Cakes in Atlanta. These cupcakes are insanely delicious and come in amazing flavors like sweet potato, lemon drop, mint chocolate, pineapple, and of course all the classics. The cake part of these cupcakes are to die for and the frosting!? Seriously perfect. We can hardly wait to eat them!

Aside from mouth watering cupcakes, we will also be having a variety of beautiful french macaroons from Alon's bakery and bars, mini pies, cookies, brownies, and lots of yummies from the Honeymoon Bakery in Rome, Georgia. Bring your sweet-tooth!! Seriously!

As well, we will be having handmade pour-over coffee from a local coffee guru/barista with homemade syrups (yum!) and plenty of other beverages. Ahh! We can hardly wait! It's SO soon!!

SURPRISE GUEST!

We are SO excited to be able to reveal a surprise guest that will be attending the Maiedae Mixer! Barb Blair is a fantastically creative woman Jenny and I met in Greenville and she has recently released her Furniture Makeovers book through Chronicle Books! Barb has a beautiful shop in downtown Greenville and has been featured as a regular contributing author on Design*Sponge. Barb will be bringing her books to the event for you to purchase and get signed!!

PUT ON YOUR CROWN

Get ready... because we are going to have the BEST flower crown buffet you have ever seen at the Mixer. Savannah and I practiced making some beautiful flower crowns to show you just how fun this is going to be! Each guest will get the opportunity to customize their own flower crown and wear it throughout the night. Just imagine how good it will look in your Smilebooth photos ;)

ETHEREAL OUTFIT IDEAS!

We are so excited that the Mixer is just under a month away! It's time to start planning your outfit if you haven't already. We are excited about the "ethereal" theme and how you all are going to translate that. Some of you may decide to go for something sparkly or sequined, some of your might go for a flowy or  dreamy look, and some of you might come up with something else altogether. ANNOUNCING THE THEME + EARLY BIRD REMINDER!

We can't believe that the Mixer is a little less than 6 weeks away!! We have been busy making plans and getting this event ready for you and we can't wait to see all of your beautiful faces there! One of the exciting parts of this annual event is the theming that will be announced each year. The theme will be a reflection of the craft we will be doing at the event as well as inspiration for your dress choice! This year we went back and forth on theme ideas and finally came to a GREAT theme that can be translated beautifully in many different ways. We are excited to announce that our theme for the first Maiedae Mixer is ETHEREAL!

The theme can be interpreted however you'd like! It can be whimsical, angelic, flowy, metallic...anything! We encourage you to dress up and wear something you love. I can hardly wait to go find my dress! Later next week we will be posting outfit ideas for the event so you can get inspired to put together a killer outfit!
